A Commitment to Biodiversity

OMOYÉ participates in the preservation of the baobab, its logo, the brand's emblem, and a sacred tree of the African land.
It is in Senegal, in the Ferlo region, a natural park with a varied ecosystem (savannas, forests, pastures, water bodies...) that Omoyé is involved in the action of the Biodiversity Endowment Fund to combat desertification in Ferlo and the disappearance of endangered species, including the Baobab.
This sacred tree in Africa is sometimes over 6000 years old. Commonly called "the pharmacist's tree" by the elders, it is essential to the ecosystem and endowed with multiple powers. Its roots, leaves, seeds, bark, and sap are rich in proteins and minerals, unique properties beneficial to humans.
Its fruit, "monkey bread," is edible and bursting with vitamins B and C, containing twice as much calcium as milk. Its pulp and oil are extracted and used in food as well as in cosmetology for their miraculous health and beauty benefits.
The baobab, present in many Omoyé products, is a gift from nature that the brand is committed to preserving. It is a wonderful example of the richness offered by biodiversity. At the heart of its ecosystem, it plays a fundamental role as a food resource, host, and refuge for many animal species (birds, reptiles, small mammals...) some of which ensure pollination, such as bees or bats.

For every Omoyé product sold, 1% is donated to the Biodiversity Endowment Fund to contribute to maintaining the Ferlo ecosystem through an awareness campaign and the planting of over 500 baobabs.
