The Meeting with the Shaman

A long time ago, the founder of Omoyé, then a veterinary doctor on a mission in southern Africa, was shipwrecked on the shores of Mozambique. Taken in by a local tribe, he was treated by the shaman using decoctions of medicinal plants and a poultice applied to his wounds. At the time, without modern means of communication, he had to wait before being repatriated to France. Day after day, his health improved, and a deep friendship was born between him and the shaman.

The Legacy of Plant Knowledge

Accompanied by Omoyé, the shaman's daughter, he followed him in his pickings, learning to listen to nature and to master the ancestral knowledge of plants: how to recognize them, use them and associate them. He was thus initiated into traditional pharmacopoeia, a heritage based on the proven effectiveness of plants in natural remedies, as well as their sacred dimension: according to tradition, plants and trees have the power to heal, protect and repel spirits, responsible for diseases and spells...

The Magic Herbarium and the Transmission of Knowledge

The shaman created for him a giant herbarium containing the main plants with magical virtues, a unique ancestral plant secret. He taught him that nature, endowed with magical powers, could heal and protect. Thanks to plants, the shaman knows how to regenerate the skin, body and mind, creating plant alchemies with extraordinary and beneficial properties for the skin.

The Best of Nature for the Skin

The founder observed the spectacular effects of these plants on the skin of the tribe's inhabitants: radiant skin, without wrinkles or imperfections. He understood that this was the result not only of their healthy diet but also of the regular use of poultices and vegetable oils. The shaman taught him that the skin, an intelligent organ, knew how to draw the necessary nutrients from the plants and reject the excess, thus ensuring effective prevention of aging.

The Return to France and the Creation of the Magic Balm (victim of its success and soon to return)

Back in France, the founder had his pharmacist analyze the poultice that had regenerated his skin and gradually erased his scars as if by magic: he made a treatment from it and named it " Le Baume Magique ", the iconic product at the origin of the brand.

He also had an oil made from the Foraha tree, known for its soothing and regenerating properties.

Wanting to share the luck he had had in meeting the shaman and discovering the power of African plants, he decided to use these two products to create a small line of organic and natural skincare products that he named Omoyé, in homage to this encounter and to the magical powers of trees, demigods in Africa, because Omoyé also means "near the gods" in Swahili.

The founder applied what he had learned from the shaman, creating treatments based on a wide variety of plants, highly concentrated and complementary. Each OMOYÉ treatment contains 6 basic active ingredients from the Magic Balm, which moisturize, nourish and revitalize the skin, combined with targeted active ingredients to meet specific needs (anti-aging, anti-redness, anti-wrinkle).

Faithful to the shaman and to this extraordinary experience, he often returned to the place of this encounter to recharge his batteries and reconnect each time with friendship, spirituality and the energy of nature.

OMOYÉ remained for a long time a confidential brand, reserved for initiates, passed on by word of mouth like a precious beauty secret and participated in the maintenance of biodiversity in Africa ( FDB ) and the planting of baobab, a sacred tree, in Senegal.
